The Folio

Is a 10-page document that is designed to showcase your planning, and to show how you have developed your research.

Below you will see:

Mustard yellow box:

A more detailed breakdown of each of the 10 pages

Hot pink box:

A basic Gantt timeline for Term 1 that you can use to help you in your planning + subject assessment advice from last year that outlines the things that students did well, and not so well, from last year.

Purple box:

The Performance Standards you will be assessed against + the class brainstorm of what these mean.

Rainbow buttons:

These buttons are designed for you to follow sequentially, left to right, top to bottom. Once you have moved through all the buttons you will have completed your Folio. Each of the buttons links to a page with video's, links, and helpful advice that you can use to complete each part of the Folio.

Folio breakdown:

Page 1:

Research Proposal

Pages 2-3:

Evidence of planning and development which will need to include:

Lotus/Mind-maps/Brainstorming:

This is a compulsory component that should have been completed at the beginning of the project. The most relevant mind map or brainstorming evidence to your topic will be included in your 10 page moderation package.

Timeline/Gantt charts/Journals/Weekly Reflections:

If you created a timeline early in the year setting out dates to complete different components of the project, it can be included here. Things that show evidence of continual evolution and engagement with them will be well-regarded. Weekly reflections or journals that show evidence of you working through problems presented to you in the research, and helping markers understand how you problem-solved, are also highly recommended.

Pages 4-10:

Source analysis' which will need to include:

Analysis of primary and secondary research:

As the name suggests, this section of the Folio is where you analyse the sources you found, looking for particular things like bias, credibility and reliability. You will need to demonstrate how you have developed your understandings of what a high quality source looks like, and that you can make judgments about what is, and is not, a reliable source. There is no particular number of source analysis' you need, but you will need to fill the 6 pages, and you will need to complete analysis on both your primary and secondary research.
